Job Overview

The Maintenance Electrician performs rearrangement, alteration, construction, and maintenance activities on equipment.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

  • Determines routing, location and method of installing wires, conduits, electrical equipment, fi xtures and
    accessories.
  • Examines malfunctioning equipment to determine if modifi cations/repairs are needed and performs them as
    required.
  • Performs operational checkout of electrical systems and equipment to assure proper installation and
    operation.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Requires ability to read and interpret all types of maintenance blueprints and specifi cations; use of shop
    mathematics to compute wire sizes.
  • Must maintain the appropriate certifi cations where applicable.
  • Must possess the degree of familiarization which is consistent with and considered usual and normal for the
    complexity of the work to be performed.
  • Requires 4 years experience.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements
    when required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and
    cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the
    employee or others.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate certifi cations where such certifi cations are a requirement of
    the job.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certifi ed Birth Certifi cate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents
    on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an eff ective
    manner.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid Real ID driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Can involve inside or outside work depending on task with working conditions including dirt, noise, heat or
    cold, and occasionally wiring in barely accessible places.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to work with hand tools, climb and work in diffi cult positions where necessary.
  • Must have ability to carry light, medium and heavy parts or materials.
